The only unfortunate exception to this rule occurs when you make a call from a payphone. FCC regulations have allowed companies operating pay phones to impose fees on outside carriers and dial-around services (like ours) for using their phones. In order to recover the charges imposed on us by these companies (the fees certainly weren't our idea!), we must charge 55¢ for each call made from a pay phone.
